I’m Kansas Staffy, SLP. I specialize in autism, feeding, and complex communication.

I work with children who need a specialist, and with the families supporting them. My work isn’t generic pediatric speech therapy. Every child gets individualized care built around who they are and what they need. Therapy comes to your home in the west valley of Phoenix or Buckeye, or we meet virtually. Either way, we work together as partners in your child’s care.

AUTISM & COMPLEX COMMUNICATORS

Specialized therapy for autistic children and complex communicators who need a therapist who truly understands their neurology. I work across the entire communication spectrum, from children still finding their words to those to those navigating social communication, executive function, and self-advocacy. Every child gets care built around who they are, not a template based on who they should be.

AAC Therapy

For children who use, or need, alternative ways to communicate. Full AAC assessment, device selection, implementation, and family training. I work with pre-verbal children, minimally verbal children, and children who benefit from AAC alongside speech. Your child’s voice matters, and there are many ways to have one!

FEEDING Therapy

For picky eaters, children with feeding challenges, and autistic children with feeding differences (a specialty focus of my practice). From food aversions to expanded variety to oral motor challenges, I offer structured programs that work with your family’s real life. My signature 3-Month Feeding Program is now enrolling.

Owner, Founder, Speech-Language Pathologist

I am a Speech-Language Pathologist with a specialty in autism, pediatric feeding and swallowing, and AAC. The families I work best with know their child needs a specialist. Complex communicators finding their voice. Feeding challenges that need more than generic advice. Autistic children whose therapist truly understands their neurology. My job is to bring specialized care to your family, and to make sure you feel supported throughout the process.

I’m originally from San Antonio, Texas. Before Arizona, I lived in Dallas, Austin, Houston, Las Vegas and Grand Junction. I’m now in Goodyear, Arizona with my husband and three dogs.

When I’m not working, I’m having movie marathons, writing short stories, watching basketball (Go Spurs Go), or at a concert.

GETTING Started with
TALK & TASTE Pediatric THERAPY IS EASY!

We start with a free 30 minute consultation, by phone or video. You’ll tell me about your child, I’ll answer your questions, and we’ll figure out together whether my practice is the right fit for your family. If we’re a match, I’ll send you intake paperwork to complete before your child’s evaluation.

LET’S TALK

Your child’s evaluation happens in your home (west valley Phoenix area or Buckeye), or virtually. I’ll spend time getting to know you and your child, observe how they play and communicate, and conduct age-appropriate assessments. Then I’ll design a plan built specifically for your child, This might be one of my structured programs, a specific session cadence, or a customized approach based on what your family actually needs.

EVALUATION

WE BEGIN

The work begins. Sessions include both direct therapy with your child and caregiver coaching for you. You’ll leave every session knowing what to work on before the next one. Whether we’re in a structured 3-month program or a customized approach, you’ll always know where we’re going and how we’ll know we’ve arrived.

Insurance & billing

WHAT YOU GET

  • Monthly superbills you can submit to your insurance for possible out-of-network reimbursement

  • Direct access to me by email or phone between sessions when you need it


    For retained Colorado clients: I continue to accept Colorado Medicaid via telehealth for existing clients.

Investment details are shared on your consultation call, when we can match pricing to the right program for your child.

Talk & Taste Pediatric Therapy is a private pay practice.

Private pay means our full session time goes to your child, not to insurance paperwork. It means I can build the specific program your child needs, without restrictions on what insurance will approve. And it means direct, expert care with no gatekeepers between you and me.
